Ethiopian Art Catalog
This catalog reflects the aesthetic wealth of artwork by the Jewish Ethiopian community in Israel, for the past thirty years. It concentrates, naturally, on traditional art and artists. It aims to preserve and catalog the ethnic Ethiopian art, which is slowly disappearing, and to preserve the memory of the Ethiopian artists who worked during the 80th and 90th and are no longer active Produced by Almaz nonprofit who supports Ethiopian artists in Israel.
Almaz is an entrepreneurial project for empowering Ethiopian women and men in Israel. The project employs a staff of Ethiopian embroidery artisans. They keep the traditional Ethiopian art forms alive by creating embroidered works through the Almaz project in the city of Lod. The goal of the project is to preserve Ethiopian art, which is based on ancient ethnic embroideries that reflect traditional Ethiopian culture.More products from this partner
